About Ricardo's

The team of Ricardo Scebba & Sue Miller built & opened the doors of Ricardo's on August 2nd, 2001. Together they bring more than a combined 50 years of restaurant expertise to ensure your dining experience will be most memorable.

Given 4 walls to work with, they created a warm Tuscan look & feel to the 50 seat dining room with the help of "Georgie" award winning designer, Tara Trumpetter.

With Ricardo's Italian heritage they decided that Italian cuisine would be the focal point of the menu. However they also wished to include other areas of Mediterranean Europe, hence the name, Ricardo's Mediterranean Kitchen.

The restaurant is located at the Holiday Park Resort in beautiful Lake Country, BC. A short 15 minute drive north from downtown Kelowna & only 20 minutes south from Vernon.

BIO – RICARDO SCEBBA - Chef / Owner

Born in Montreal to Italian parents, Ricardo Scebba learned to appreciate the traditions of food and family from an early age. At 16, Ricardo started as a cook and continued working at various Montreal restaurants throughout high school and college. Knowing early on, that restaurants were his true calling, Ricardo earned a degree in Restaurant Management from St.Clair College.

In 1981, Ricardo relocated to Toronto and moved to the front-of-the-house working as a server and bartender. Ten years later he moved west to continue his career in Vancouver.

In 2001, they opened Ricardo’s Mediterranean Kitchen. Building on Ricardo’s Italian heritage, many of the dishes are inspired by Ricardo’s own mother’s recipes. In 2006, Ricardo’s parents Giuseppe and Concetta moved to the Okanagan and have been involved with the restaurant’s daily operations ever since. Ricardo’s father grows much of the fresh produce and his mother helps perfect the traditional Italian flavors for many of the dishes. A true family establishment, three out of Ricardo’s four children also work in the restaurant.

Ricardo’s lifelong commitment to the hospitality industry and strong Italian roots, has earned him multiple restaurant awards including “Best Restaurant”, “Best Service” and “Best Italian” from multiple publications.

BIO – SUE MILLER - Co-owner, Maître d’

As co-owner and the self described “hostess with the mostess”, Sue’s love for entertaining and commitment to her local community has contributed greatly to the restaurant’s success.

Born in North Vancouver, Sue brings with her over 25 years of experience working in the hospitality industry and has held nearly every restaurant position except for chef.

Sue firmly believes that connecting with the local community has a direct impact on the restaurant’s success. Sue’s commitment to her guests and community has earned the restaurant many accolades including “Best Restaurant”, “Best Service” and “Best Italian” from multiple publications.

Surrounded by family, friends, Italian food and some of the best wines in the world, Sue proudly admits that she has found her dream job.
